  • CHOICE Rebrands Extended-Stay to Suburban Studios

    Choice Hotels International has announced it is modernizing and rebranding its Suburban Extended Stay franchise brand as a low-cost, flexible conversion model called Suburban Studios to take advantage of what it sees as a big opportunity to grow in the economy extended-stay segment.

  • STR: U.S. hotel results for week ending 12 March

    Overall U.S. hotel performance increased from the previous week, according to STR‘s latest data through 12 March. While none of the Top 25 Markets showed an occupancy increase over 2019, Miami came closest to its 2019 comparable (-4.7% to 84.1%).

    6-12 March 2022 (percentage change from comparable week in 2019):

    • Occupancy: 63.2% (-9.8%)
    • Average daily rate (ADR): US$144.68 (+7.7%)
    • Revenue per available room (RevPAR): US$91.45 (-2.8%)
